The reserve team and the Youth A team both suffered away losses

The reserve team and the Youth A team were unable to earn points in their respective Matchday 3 games. The reserve team lost 4-3 to Antequera CF B after taking a 0-3 lead, while the Youth A team lost 4-1 to CD UD Dos Hermanas San Andrés, the current league leader.
Two matches with very different storylines, but with one thing in common: both teams started off playing well but ended up watching their opponents turn the game around in the second half.

The reserve team lets a 0-3 lead slip away in Antequera
The reserve team lost 4-3 to Antequera CF B at the Ciudad de Antequera Municipal Stadium.
The team coached by Carlos Díaz had a very strong first half and went into halftime with a three-goal lead. The Estepona reserve team capitalized on virtually every clear scoring opportunity it had and put the Antequera side on the ropes.
The scoring opened in the 15th minute, when Calum Hatton made it 0-1. The reserve team continued to create danger and found the back of the net again in the closing stages of the first half.
In the 38th minute, Alejandro Zotano extended the lead to 0-2. Just six minutes later, Ángel Cazorla scored to make it 0-3 in the 44th minute, putting the reserve team in a very favorable position heading into halftime.
The reserve team had converted three of their four chances in the first half and seemed to have the game well in hand.

Antequera Fights Back After Halftime
However, the match took a complete turn after the break.
Antequera cut the lead in the 51st minute through Juan Manuel De Oses, who scored again just five minutes later to make it 2-3.
The home reserve team had fully gotten back into the game, and the equalizer came in the 60th minute, courtesy of Pablo Caro.
With the score at 3-3, the match was wide open, and Antequera completed the comeback in the 76th minute when Juan Carlos Fernández scored the decisive goal to make it 4-3.
Thus, Estepona went from holding a three-goal lead to ultimately losing the match.
According to the assessment provided by the coordinator of the reserve and Youth A teams, Antonio Sánchez, the second half was a far cry from the level of play shown during the first 45 minutes. The team played with less intensity, and, as noted in the post-match analysis, in such a competitive league, it is essential to maintain intensity and the ability to compete throughout the entire match to prevent the opponent from mounting a comeback.
The reserve team also featured players who have been part of the first team’s lineup, including Ties Johannes, but was unable to hold onto the lead it had built during the first half.

CD Estepona B’s Position in the Standings
After three matchdays, the reserve team sits in 17th place in the 1st Andalusian Senior League of Málaga, in a group consisting of 18 teams.
The reserve team’s record currently stands at one draw and two losses, giving them one point after the first three matchdays.
The competition is still in its early stages, and the next match will be particularly important as it features an opponent in a similar position in the standings.
The next opponent will be C.D. Athletic de Coín, currently 16th with two points. The match will be an opportunity for Estepona’s reserve team to seek its first victory of the season and begin climbing back up the standings.

The Under-19 A Team Falls to the League Leader After Pushing Hard in the First Half

The CD Estepona Under-19 A Team also failed to pick up any points, losing 4-1 to CD UD Dos Hermanas San Andrés at the Campo Municipal El Duende.
The match was part of Matchday 3 of the 2nd Andalusian Youth League in Málaga, Single Group, and pitted the Estepona team against one of the sides expected to contend for the top spots in the standings.
The match got off to the worst possible start for the Youth A team. Barely two minutes had passed when Lionel Pulido put CD UD Dos Hermanas San Andrés ahead 1-0.
Despite the early setback, the team coached by *Carlos García managed to bounce back and compete for the remainder of the first half.
The reward came in the 35th minute, when Hugo Flores scored the equalizer to make it 1-1.
The Under-19 A team went into halftime with the score tied, after a first half in which they managed to stay in the game against an opponent that currently sits at the top of the standings.

Three Second-Half Goals Decide the Match
After the break, the home team regained the lead in the 60th minute with a goal by Andrés Barriocanal.
Dos Hermanas San Andrés’ second goal marked a turning point in the match. Three minutes later, Vittorio Pradelli made it 3-1, and just two minutes after that, Álvaro Hernando sealed the final score at 4-1.
CD Estepona Juvenil A was unable to respond to the home team’s period of dominance and ended up conceding three goals in just five minutes.
Team officials believe the result should serve as a learning experience for a squad made up of very young players who still need to gain experience and improve certain aspects of their game.
The impressions shared by Antonio Sánchez, coordinator of the reserve team and the Juvenil A squad, suggest that the team showed in the first half that it could compete against a top-tier opponent, but later struggled to win individual duels and maintain the necessary intensity.
The goal now is to regain confidence, correct mistakes, and continue working so the team can turn its talent into better results. The priority will be to reassure the players, pinpoint the areas that need correction, and continue developing a group that still has room for improvement.

Two Losses to Keep Growing

Matchday 3 thus leaves a negative record for the two main youth teams of CD Estepona. The reserve team had the three points within their grasp after taking a 0-3 lead in Antequera, but ended up losing 4-3 after a second half in which the home team managed to complete the comeback.
The Juvenil A team, for its part, managed to reach halftime tied 1-1 against the league leader, but struggled early in the second half and ultimately lost 4-1.
Beyond the results, both teams now face a week of training to correct mistakes and try to regain their form. The reserve team’s next opponent will be C.D. Athletic de Coín, a direct rival in the standings, while the Juvenil A team will look to bounce back in their next match against Antequera CF.
