Emotion alone isn't enough anymore.

Now it's time to crunch the numbers.

CD Estepona enters the final seven league matchdays with 29 points, sitting:
• 4 points behind the playout spot (Salerm – 33)
• 5 points from direct survival (Yeclano – 34)

With 21 points still up for grabs.

A narrow margin.

But enough to depend, for the most part, on what the team itself does.

Because at this stage of the season, the difference no longer lies in looking at the standings.

It’s about knowing what to do with it.

The number that defines the goal

Beyond feelings, there’s a clear benchmark.

In Group IV of the Second Division, safety usually hovers around 40 points.

That is the line.

And that is the goal.

From their current 29 points, Estepona needs to earn approximately:

• between 11 and 13 points to get into the real fight
• between 14 and 15 to secure it with a margin

It’s not an impossible number.

But it does require something very specific:

consistency.

Not all matches are equal

The schedule isn’t neutral.

And in these seven matchdays, some games carry more weight than others:
• Xerez Deportivo (away)
• UD Melilla (home)
• Yeclano Deportivo (away, final matchday)

These are direct showdowns.

And that changes everything.

Because here, points aren’t just earned.

They’re also taken away from the opponent.

That’s where a large part of survival is decided.

Where Survival Must Be Built

There’s another factor that can’t be ignored.

Home performance.

Estepona has improved at Muñoz Pérez in recent months.

And now they have three home games left:
• Extremadura
• Melilla
• Águilas

Three different scenarios.

But the same need:

to turn the home field into a source of points

Because in these types of season finales, teams that avoid relegation usually deliver at home.

The plain-and-simple math

If you break it down into simple numbers, the goal is clear:

• win at least 4–5 matches
• and pick up points in a few more

That would bring the team to a total close to or above 40 points.

A threshold that historically marks survival.

There isn’t much room for error.

But it’s not an unattainable goal either.

The difference lies in what the team has already done

There’s one detail that completely changes the outlook.

Estepona has already proven it can sustain a competitive momentum.

Since January, the team has been able to:
• pick up points consistently
• compete in every match
• improve at home
• win away at key moments

That’s why the key isn’t in doing something new.

It’s in maintaining what’s already working.

Seven matchdays with no turning back

The schedule enters its final stretch.

Every matchday narrows the margin.

Every point carries more weight.

And every mistake comes at a higher cost.

But the opposite is also true.

Every victory brings us closer.

Every step counts.

And every week can change the situation.

Estepona has already done the hardest part.

Getting back in the fight.

Now comes the most demanding part.

Holding on.

For seven more matchdays.
