Alfonso Candelas, MVP of the 2025–26 season, as voted by CD Estepona Fans

On Friday, following the match against Atlético Malagueño, the soccer player received the trophy recognizing him as the player who received the most votes from fans during the past season

The 2025/26 season is now part of history, but there was still one award left to present.

Alfonso Candelas received the trophy recognizing him as the MVP of the 2025/26 season for CD Estepona Fans, an award chosen directly by the fans and supporters of our community during the past season.

The award ceremony took place this Friday, following the conclusion of the II Villa de Estepona Trophy against Atlético Malagueño. The award, for the 2025/26 season, was presented now due to logistical issues related to the trophy’s production and the players’ offseason following the end of the competition.

The Fans Chose Candelas

During the 2025/26 season, supporters of CD Estepona Fans were able to participate in various MVP polls following the red-and-white team’s matches.

At the end of the season, Alfonso Candelas was the player who received the most votes from the fans, making him the winner of the award for the season.

This award holds special significance precisely because of its origin: it is chosen by the fans themselves.

It is not an award given by the club nor an evaluation by the coaching staff. It is the result of votes cast by those who followed the team throughout a particularly intense season and who saw Candelas as one of their most outstanding players.

Candelas Takes Over from Jorge García

The fullback succeeds Jorge García, winner of the CD Estepona Fans MVP award for the previous season.

Jorge was the first player to receive this trophy, and now Candelas takes over, having his name inscribed as MVP of the 2025–26 season.

The award was presented in the presence of the player himself, and representatives from CD Estepona Fans explained the purpose and significance of this award to him.

An Award That Will Continue in 2026/27

With the new season already underway, the CD Estepona Fans MVP will continue to be an initiative open to fan participation.

Fans will once again be able to vote for their standout players after each match, and at the end of the 2026/27 season, there will be a new winner.

Because this award is based on a very simple premise:

the MVP is chosen by the fans.

And the winner for the 2025/26 season has already been named:

Alfonso Candelas.
