*A TEAM SHORT ON PLAYERS WINS CONVINCINGLY IN ALGARROBO 2-4*

A well-deserved victory for our reserve team, who beat UD Algarrobo 2-4 in a match in which Antonio Sánchez's players, despite many absences, showed great skill and commitment to earn three valuable points. The match couldn't have started better. Ten minutes into the game, Rodney, who had a great game with two assists and a goal, made a great run down the left wing and sent an excellent ball to Luis Felipe, who finished from close range to put the Rojillos ahead.
These were the best minutes of the game for our boys. Just two minutes later, our second goal came from a masterful free kick by Miguel Montesinos, which hit the crossbar and rebounded to Luis Felipe, who headed it into the empty net. But in soccer, and especially in this category, there are no easy opponents. Algarrobo showed their pride and were not going to let the three points slip away so easily. In two minutes, we had two defensive errors, in which we were not attentive to the second play, and they took advantage of this to equalize the match with two shots, which Miguel could do nothing about.
After the equalizer, Antonio Sánchez's boys knew that it was a "tricky" game and that they had to roll up their sleeves and get to work. And that's what they did. The team reacted well, adapting to their physical play and playing into the space, where we did a lot of damage. Another great play by Rodney on the left wing was taken advantage of by Javi Diaz, who shot at the far post, making it 2-3 at halftime. We knew that the game could not slip away from us. And in the second half, we came out with the attitude and skill that the game required. With a very solid defense and commitment from the whole team, we made any hint of a comeback by the home side impossible. Ten minutes into the second half, Luis Felipe played a great pass to Rodney, who found himself in front of the goalkeeper and, with an excellent shot, placed the ball almost in the top corner, making it 2-4.
From then on, we controlled the game very well, knowing how to suffer and conceding very few chances to the opposition, who saw that the three points were already Estepona's.
It was a huge victory and a great game for the boys led by Antonio Sánchez, who, with 10 players out and a player from Cadete A, Izan, making his debut with the reserve team, comfortably beat Algarrobo, who, as usual, sold their defeat dearly.
With this victory, our team remains in fourth place, in the playoff zone, and next week will visit the all-powerful Rincón. WE CONTINUE, WE ARE ESTEPONA! ❤️💙💪🏻🔥
