CD Estepona coach Manolo Sánchez gave a detailed analysis of the team's situation in Segunda Federación, following a very difficult start to the season that has led to three coaching changes.

He made these statements in an interview with 7TV Andalucía, as part of its sports programming, in which the coach discussed the team's current situation, internal changes at the club, and the clear objective of fighting to stay up.

Currently, CD Estepona is 12 points from safety, with 16 games still to play. Despite the difficulty of the situation, Manolo Sánchez is convinced that the team can turn things around: "It's a difficult challenge, but also a very nice one. We are trying to change things to change the dynamic."

Since his arrival, the Estepona team has managed to break a streak of ten consecutive defeats, earning points in three of the last four games, a key factor in regaining confidence: "It's already a very positive thing to try to get our heads up and look forward." Order, control, and a change of mentality
The coach explained that he found a club with sporting ambition, but with internal shortcomings that were affecting the team's performance: "The project was ambitious, but the dressing room and internal management were not in line with that ambition." For Manolo Sánchez, the change had to start with the day-to-day: "Without order and control, it is very difficult to compete in soccer."

Julen Guerrero and the professionalization of the club One of the pillars of the new project is Julen Guerrero, who joined CD Estepona with a key role in the club's structure. The coach highlighted the harmony between the two: "With a glance, we know what we want from each other." As he explained, Julen Guerrero is driving a profound transformation of the club: "He wants to professionalize many departments and bring the club closer to professional soccer." A fully professional CD Estepona
Manolo Sánchez was emphatic in describing the team's current situation: "Right now, it's a professional team." The players are working in double sessions, focusing exclusively on soccer and meeting the demands of the category: "They are well paid and on time, and from there, we have to demand more." Market and squad
Regarding the transfer market, the coach confirmed that there will be reinforcements, although no drastic changes: "We have to make a leap in quality in several positions, but the team is responding." A clear message to the dressing room Since his arrival, Manolo Sánchez has conveyed a firm message to the group: "No one is above the club." The coach insisted on the importance of humility and daily work: "You can't achieve anything with arrogance; with humility and hard work, you can." He also acknowledged that last season's good performance may have created unrealistic expectations: "You can't live off last year's playoffs."

Believing in staying up The goal is clear: survival. And the coach has no doubts: "If I didn't believe it was possible, I wouldn't be here." For Manolo Sánchez, CD Estepona must approach this final stretch as a historic opportunity: "We have a wonderful challenge to make history in Segunda Federación." Next match
CD Estepona will visit Recreativo de Huelva next Sunday at 12:00 p.m., a match that the coach is approaching with optimism: "We are competing better and changing things. Why can't something beautiful happen there?" Manolo Sánchez has a contract until the end of the season and his goal is clear: to fight until the end for permanence.
