Interview with the coach of the subsidiary, Antonio Sánchez

The Mister of our subsidiary team, Antonio Sanchez, was kind enough to grant us a short interview to Estepona Fans, to know a little more about the plans for this beautiful season 25/26.
*AFTER THE HISTORIC PROMOTION ACHIEVED LAST SEASON, WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS NEW AND DIFFICULT CATEGORY?
Well, we always have in mind that our illusion is to do great and want to improve year after year, obviously we enter a difficult category, with many teams from soccer towns and cities, which invest financially in their players and that makes existence much more difficult, especially against a team like ours, we are very young and inexperienced in this type of competition and leagues.
But in spite of everything, we arrive with the maximum illusion in doing well, both collectively, as well as that the boys grow individually.
*WHAT IS THE METHODOLOGY AND PHILOSOPHY THAT YOU CARRY OUT IN THIS SUBSIDIARY TEAM?
Obviously, we are a subsidiary team, and the only objective we have, is to have the maximum number of players with options to participate and help our first team in between games, with the clear idea of betting on all young players with talent and age that can help us in this task, either from our town, which is the most appropriate, as well as from the surrounding area.
*WITH THIS CURRENT PROJECT OF THE SUBSIDIARY, DO YOU THINK THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO COMPETE IN THIS DEMANDING AND COMPLICATED CATEGORY?
Well, as I said before, we are a young and inexperienced team in these competitions.
With very few resources, we are trying to have all the best we can from our quarry and surroundings. We still have the same base of players as last season, we have also incorporated several players from our own quarry and some who played abroad, but obviously we also need players from the first team who are on our reserve team to help us, to try to give this team more depth, and to be able to compete against very strong teams. I hope we can make a good competitive block, and that we have that difference that can give us some first team players.
*AFTER THE DEPARTURE OF ALEX CARRASCO, DO YOU CONSIDER THAT THERE IS ANY PLAYER WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF TAKING THAT ROLE IN THE FIRST TEAM?
Alex is a great youth player, who has been in the first team for several years and due to circumstances has had to leave for a great and historic team to continue his career, which will surely come in great experience and overall growth.
I believe that in our subsidiary team, there are young players who point very good ways and of course they have options to train and be in the first team, in fact in preseason there will surely be some, the only thing is to continue betting on them and giving them prominence in training, so that little by little they can give their maximum level with our first team. It is true that we have to try to have many more of our players with real options for the first team. Hopefully soon there will be several more.
*AS WE KNOW, OUR RESERVE AND YOUTH TEAMS HAVE BEEN ACHIEVING GOOD RESULTS FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THE YOUTH TEAM WITH THREE CONSECUTIVE PROMOTION PLAY OFFS, AND THE RESERVE TEAM WITH TWO CONSECUTIVE PROMOTIONS.
*WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE SUCCESS OF THESE MAGNIFICENT RESULTS IN RECENT YEARS?
Well, it is true that with the youth team we have been very close to promotion to the national league for three years, with a varied group of players, but with a high level, although due to circumstances we have not been able to achieve it year after year.
All this has been achieved thanks to the continued work of coaches and their technical staffs, who have worked hard for this goal, and of course also from the club, which has tried to help and provide the best possible conditions to achieve it.
In the subsidiary team, exactly the same, an extraordinary work has been done from the technical and directive bodies to be able to achieve it. From the club, it has been bet to give many trainings of players of the subsidiary and the youth with the first team, and youth with the subsidiary, and that also affects the players to make a leap in their personal growth, and helps them to progress.
We have been fortunate to be able to coach and direct kids who are very committed and excited about wanting to help and reach the top of the club, and that is entirely the merit of the kids. We, the coaches, only contribute and help them to develop in all aspects, in the best possible way.
Your business doesn't need another template.
