Today, it is our turn to know a little more in depth, the physical trainer and responsible for the good form of our subsidiary team. That is none other than Joaquín Santillana.

*WHAT LED YOU TO TAKE THE STEP TO SIGN FOR OUR SUBSIDIARY TEAM?

  1. Well, first of all, to work with good people. Although I already came from a very good coaching staff, headed by Alfonsito Caravaca, where I have gained a lot of experience, I wanted a bigger challenge. I wanted and needed new experiences that would lead me to continue growing and expanding my knowledge and I knew that with the current coaching staff I would be able to achieve it.
Then to have the privilege of being able to use the club's facilities and work as I would really like to, being able to give it the use it deserves.

*WHAT IS YOUR WORK METHODOLOGY AND YOUR OBJECTIVES FOR THIS SEASON?

I put a lot of emphasis on strength, power and speed work. I feel that this is the basis for a player to be able to give his maximum performance on the field, obviously with the control of loads and the supervision that is carried out week by week. My goal is for them to become stronger, more powerful and faster. That is my intention.

KNOWING THAT THIS TEAM IS NOT PROFESSIONAL , I.E., THEY DON'T GET PAID, MANY WORK AND MISS *TRAINING, ETC... WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST DIFFICULTY IN THE FACE OF ALL THIS?

The loads, the fatigue, etc. One often wants to put or do things to try to make them better in sports, but it is very difficult due to the fact that many work from very early in the morning until late in the afternoon, and it is normal, physical fatigue or body aches. So to assimilate loads and prepare training, taking into account all that, is the difficult part.

*THIS IS YOUR SECOND SEASON IN THE COACHING STAFF LED BY ANTONIO SANCHEZ * HOW WOULD YOU RATE THE WORK DONE SO FAR, AFTER A PROMOTION AND HAVING TRAINED PLAYERS FOR THE FIRST TEAM?
Very satisfied. I'm happy for the fact that Antonio lets me do my part with peace of mind, and gives me the freedom to work. I appreciate that very much. Then, the two seasons have been very positive, where we achieved promotion and now we are on the right track. I am very happy where I am now. Learning from the greats and continuing to forge my path.

*HOW DO YOU RATE YOUR TEAM, SPEAKING MERELY OF THE PHYSICAL ASPECT?

I think that today they are at an 8 out of 10, what I would like them to be. Although they are doing very well, and since preseason there has been an incredible improvement, where we have been at much lower weights, today we can say that they are above those weights and with an increase of 50%. So I am very pleased and happy with how they are progressing and growing from a physical point of view.
