This Sunday, the reserve team will face a true do-or-die match against CP Mijas Las Lagunas, as they aim to realize their dream of reaching the promotion playoffs for the Division of Honor.

After a strong performance last week against Málaga 1903, our team is coming into this match with high spirits and, above all, full of excitement and eager to make history by leading the reserve team to a promotion playoff for the first time.

Unfortunately, the Rojillo coach, Antonio Sánchez, won’t be able to count on his full roster for the most important match of the season. This is due to several factors: injuries, illnesses, players called up to the first team and the youth team, etc. But despite all these difficulties, they won’t dampen the enthusiasm and excitement of a squad that has been having an excellent season.

Not only because of the results—which speak for themselves, given all the problems this team has been dealing with—but also because of the number of players who have contributed to the first team, and in turn, players who have made their debuts with the reserve team, coming up from both the Youth and even the Cadet squads. Whatever happens on Sunday, the Estepona team’s season can be described as historic.

Their opponent, Mijas Las Lagunas, a familiar foe we’ve faced all these years—all the way up to the Primera Andaluza—has gone from strength to strength and, unfortunately for us, has reached the final stretch of the season in peak form. With four consecutive wins, they’ve made it to the final match, holding their fate in their own hands to secure a spot in the playoffs.

On top of all this, we must note that this team benefits from the support of its first team, which competes in 3RFEF and is on track to move up to 2RFEF. They are openly backing this reserve team, paying local players and signing very promising new talent—all of which makes them more competitive and gives the team that leap in quality, making them even more dangerous and formidable.

This will be a high-stakes match, and both our players and coaching staff are asking the Rojilla fans to make the short trip to Mijas to give these warriors one last push, so they don’t feel alone in the tough battle ahead. Now more than ever, that support, that encouragement, is essential.

The match will take place on Sunday, April 26, at 7:00 PM, at the Juan Gambero Culebras Stadium. YES, WE CAN! YES, WE CAN! LET’S GO, ESTEPONA! ❤️💙💪🏻
