The Malaga derby of the Copa del Rey, broadcasted by Canal Sur

The fans of CD Estepona and Málaga CF will be able to follow the Copa del Rey opener on free-to-air. Canal Sur has confirmed that it will broadcast the match between CD Estepona and Málaga CF, corresponding to the first round of the Copa del Rey, which will be played this Thursday, October 30 at 21:00 at the Francisco Muñoz Pérez stadium in Estepona. The clash can be seen through Andalucía Televisión, allowing Andalusian soccer fans to enjoy the provincial derby even if they can not go to the field.

Canal Sur has reached an agreement with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to broadcast the match, outside the usual package of televised matches that include only First Division teams. Thus, the duel between CD Estepona, from the Second Federation, and Málaga CF, from the Second Division, will be one of the few matches of lower categories that will be offered free-to-air during this stage of the tournament.

This year, the draw for the first two rounds of the Copa del Rey is made according to criteria of geographical proximity, which has led to several regional clashes. Among them, CD Estepona - Málaga CF and Atlético Palma del Río - Real Betis Balompié, although the latter, as it includes a First Division team, will not be broadcasted by the regional channel.
