HEAD TO HEAD | CD Estepona-CD Ciudad de Lucena

CD Ciudad de Lucena visits the Francisco Muñoz Pérez stadium and we look back to recover the matches played in Estepona against the teams from Lucena.

In this historical journey, we only find four matches played in Estepona, a figure that contrasts with the decades that have passed since that first encounter in 1973, and that reflects how infrequent this duel has been.

Defunct CD Estepona

During the seventies we find two matches played at home.

• 1973/74 Season
CD Estepona 0-0 Lucentino Industrial
Played on November 25, 1973.

• 1974/75 Season
CD Estepona 2-0 Lucentino Industrial
Meeting held on April 13, 1975.

Union Estepona CF

Decades later, at the beginning of the 21st century, Unión Estepona CF once again faced a representative of Lucena football, in Group IV of the now-defunct Second Division B.

• 2009/10 Season
Unión Estepona CF 1-1 Lucena CF
Match played on March 28, 2010.

• 2010/11 Season
Unión Estepona CF 0-0 Lucena CF
Meeting held on May 8, 2011.

Thirty-five years had to pass since those clashes against Lucentino Industrial in the 1970s before Unión Estepona CF faced a Lucentino team again. Now, 15 years have passed since their last encounter , played in 2011.

This Saturday we have the opportunity to once again defeat a Lucena team in Estepona. Fifty-one years have passed since that last victory (2-0), achieved on April 13, 1975, in our venerable, beloved, and fondly remembered San Fernando Municipal Stadium , where so many fans began their lifelong love affair with CD Estepona.
